    Word Association

In Word Association, you post the Irish word that you associate with the Irish word in the last post, along with a translation of that word in English. If you know enough Irish, feel free to add an example sentence using the word you chose.

For example, if the last post is:

    Úul

    Apple

    Níor ith sé an t-úll.

He did not eat the apple.

Then the next post might be:

    Dearg

    Red

    Cheannaigh sé rósanna dearga di.

    He bought her red roses.

It could be the first word that comes to mind. The association doesn't have to make sense to anyone but you.

I will start. The first word is:

    Sionnach

    Fox

    Tá sionnach dearg amuigh.

There is a red fox outside.

    Small

Yes, that's how you play -- Just use a word you associate with the last word posted -- though, you should put "Big" under "Mór" for those who don't know the word.

    Re: Word Association

Thanks for playing. You need to post the associated word by itself, then you can provide an example sentence if you want.

    Oibrím

    I work

Oibrím go dian agus ansin ligim mo scíth.

I work hard and then I take a rest.

Literally: I work hard and then I take my rest.
