Books to read that enhance the Irish Experience

    Hello,

Other than travel guides, what books have y'all read that would offer a flavor of Irish culture?

I read "How the Irish Saved Civilization" by Thomas Cahill several years ago and am re-reading it now, it's one of my favorite books. I also have a collection of Irish folk tales and poetry that I read to my students (11 year olds). Another book, written for young adults, but is a great read for anyone is "Black Potatoes the Story of the Great Irish Famine" by Susan Campbell Bartoletti
