  • Please help me understand...

So here I am thinking I'm doing pretty good with my Irish . But yesterday, I find I don't have a clue about the Irish language! There are so many words and letters that are dropped that I will now have to learn everything and start all over. I think this time I'll use The Irish People's lessons.

  • Re: Hi , Laura !

Tá. It is from the " Irish People's Lessons". Grma for looking it over for me. I didn't want to start studying the course until I knew for sure it was actually spoken by Irish people . I think I'll devote a little time to it and see if it will be a help in my learning. Is going to be hard at first to change my pronunciation

  • Hi , Laura !

Cad é mar atá tú ? I've heard of the "Standard Irish" that is taught in the Irish schools, but I have no idea what the " Standard Irish " is. So I Googled it and this is what I found. Would you please give it a look over and let me know what you think when you have time ? Grma Séamas: (SHAY*-muhs)

  • Re: Help with..' bheadh', le do thoil

I'm a beginner. I've been learning the Ulster dialect from BBC Blas & Colin and Cumberland Northern Ireland. There's only a couple of words I'm having trouble understanding and " bheadh'" is one of them. I thought it would be pronounced as 'now' but it doesn't sound like that on the audio.
